Solenoid Valves
Solenoid Valves require an electrical signal to open or close the valve. When the valve is ‘Normally Closed’, the valve requires electrical power to open. When the power is removed, the valve will close. When the valve is ‘Normally Open’, the valve requires power to close. The valve opens when the power is removed.
Due to the electrical actuation, Solenoid Valves fall into two categories. Safe Area, or Explosive Area Classification, usually known as Ex. Red Dragon Solenoid Valves are available with Brass, 316 Stainless Steel, Aluminium and Plastic bodies. Port sizes from 1/8” to 2” BSP or NPT. Manual Reset Solenoid Valves from 3/4" BSP to 4" BSP, also PN16 flanged. Solenoid Valves have, two, three and five ports. Five port valves can have double solenoid actuators with three position spools, for closed or open centres. Our NAMUR Solenoid Valves are fitted to actuators. We also stock Cryogenic Solenoid Valves, and Solenoid Valves for acids and aggressive media.
