Solenoid Valves
Some basic information to help you determine which valve you require:
Solenoid Valves require an electrical signal to open or close. This function is called Normally Closed or Normally open.
Normally Closed: the valve requires electrical power to open.
Normally Open: the valve requires power to close.
Due to the electrical actuation, Solenoid Valves fall into two categories: Safe Area or Hazardous Area.
Safe Area: For general purpose equipment & applications. Explosive gases are not present around the valve.
Hazardous Area: Installations where explosive gases could be present.
