Solenoid Valves
Some basic information to help you determine which valve you require:
Solenoid Valves require an electrical signal to open or close the valve.
- Solenoid Valves require an electrical signal to open or close the valve.
- When the valve is ‘Normally Closed’, the valve requires electrical power to open.
- When the valve is ‘Normally Open’, the valve requires power to close.
Due to the electrical actuation, Solenoid Valves fall into two categories:
- Safe Area.
- Explosive Area.
Body Materials:
- Brass. Used for general purpose fluids
- 316 Stainless Steel. Used for corrosive fluids
- 304 Stainless Steel. Used for corrosive fluids
- Aluminium. Lightweight material usually found in pneumatic applications
- Plastic. Cheap body material, but can sometimes be specified for corrosive liquids
- PTFE. Usually used for very corrosive liquids such as acids
Port sizes:
- 1/8", 1/4", 13/8", 1/2", 3/4", 1", 1 1/4", 1 1/2", 2", 2 1/2", 3", 4", 5", 6", 8", 10", 12"
- Flanged Ports: 1 1/2", 2", 3", 4", 5", 6", 8", 10", 12"
- Flanged Classes: PN16, PN25, ANSI 150, ANSI 300
